Modified Social Benches
These are Modified Social Benches by artist Jeppe Hein, which are located throughout the city of De Haan in Belgium, for the contemporary art event Beaufort04. The bench designs
borrow their basic form from normal park benches, but are altered in
various degrees to make the act of sitting on them a conscious physical
endeavour.

Living Statues Contest - 2010
There is an annual competition for such performers at Arnhem in the Netherlands. Also, the U.S. city of Laguna Beach, California, is home to the annual Pageant of the Masters show which is created by local amateur volunteers as part of the city's Festival of the Arts. The show presents living statue recreations of several dozen famous artworks in one evening. The show is set to classical music and about two minutes are allocated per artwork. In Portugal, the city of Espinho organizes since 1997 a living statues contest, the Sunday of June near the 16 (the municipal holiday).
Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida has hosted interactive examples of living statues from Unity Productions since April 1995.
At concerts for The Dresden Dolls, there are often living statues, as the lead singer/pianist Amanda Palmer was a living statue before starting The Dresden Dolls.

Cool Water Parks
With the mercury rising well above comfortable levels, finding ways to cool off in the summer inevitably becomes one of the top priorities for most people. Unfortunately jumping into the River is not an option, even if it is the main water source intersecting the city. However, the good news is that there are a number of water parks in and around the city that offer fun amenities for the whole family- and of course lots of water for that essential cool off.
Photography at the Perfect Time
Shadows create fascinating pictures on their own, and they also are beautiful when paired with their parent object. The contrast between the image and its shadow makes an amazing photograph.

Beautiful Bridges in the World
We’ve come a long way in bridge building since crossing a river on a fallen log. The first bridges were built with wooden planks, ropes and stones. Soon, stronger material were required. Wood and stone bridges gave way to iron, then to steel ones. Bridge building techniques also evolved: beam, cantilevered, cable-stayed, and suspension bridges – each with advantages that made it the right choice for a particular location.
Political fortunes and wars have been made or lost by bridges. Throughout history, bridges had been built by engineers and burned by warriors, and crossed by kings and commoners alike. Millions of people owe their livelihood to bridges, as most require them to commute; and yet thousands of people choose to end their lives by jumping off them every year.
Bridges are stylish: from classical to modern, they are as much a work of art as they are marvels of engineering. To celebrate the wonders of "classic wooden" bridges, here is a collection.
