The Subaquatic Sculpture Museum is located at the West Coast National
Park in Quintana Roo, on the Yucatan Peninsula. Famous underwater artist
Jason de Caires Taylor, who created the world’s first underwater
sculpture park, is overseeing the museum. The statues will represent
traditional as well as modern Mexican narratives. ‘The Silent Evolution’
is a work of art expected to be the final addition to the Subaquatic
Sculpture Museum. It will mix growing coral with the concrete to express
the passage of time. Theme-based galleries featuring Mayan indigenous
warriors or dream catchers will undoubtedly add to the popularity of
this museum.
